This week we have the twisted FireStarter, Prodigy fan Rich Denman.
He is the glue that holds everything together! He is our Chief Engineer and this was a very interesting read until I read he was.....
A Liverpool Fan!!! Oh No....

Nickname (past or present): I have been called many things in the past but would not wish to repeat them here
What day and time do you present/volunteer on HRC? I started on the Tuesday night request show before succumbing to the dark side of engineering
Do you present your own show? No
If yes, what is the name and content of your show?
When did you join Hospital Radio? Not too sure... sometime in 2012
What made you choose to volunteer for HRC?My mum spent about six months in hospital during my last year of Uni and she said that the radio was the one thing that she enjoyed. It made sense to get involved and having a background in audio and music technology I thought I could contribute something to the service
What do you enjoy most about HRC? Aside from the obvious sense of satisfaction that all volunteers get from helping provide this service I enjoy working on electronic and audio systems. Being a self confessed geek it is quite satisfying to look at a problem and engineer a solution
Favourite music genre?Quite eclectic. I like a lot of House and Electronic Dance that would be considered off the beaten track but I am equally partial to some current chart and classical music
First album ever bought (LP or CD)? The Prodigy – Music for the Jilted Generation
Favourite artist/band/singer? Soul Avengerz (Hats off to anyone who has ever heard of them)
What is your most influential music memory?Seeing Roger Sanchez’s 7hr J set at Ministry of Sound was pretty good. But I would probably say my first DJ set in public at Uni. I was pretty nervous and my hands were shaking that much that I could cue the record properly (It was vinyl back then). A couple of shots of Sambucca sorted that though!
Favourite single, 7”,12” or MP3 (for the younger generation)?Difficult to choose one. Favorite current song is probably Jason Derulo – Talk Dirty to Me (love the sax) Other faves are Robert Miles – Children, Love Station – Teardrops, Soul Avengerz - Move
Biggest artist to inspire you musically and why?Probably the Prodigy. They were the biggest dance group around whilst I grew up and really opened up the world of underground dance music to me.
Best live concert or performance you’ve seen?
I dont really do that many gigs (mainly coz I have too many gigs of my own). I saw Sonny Wharton DJ at the opening night of Evoke, and having never seen him before I didn’t have particularly high expectations but he was the best act of the night
Away from music, what do you enjoy most? I am an avid Liverpool FC fan and I love IT. I am also a keen fish keeper, although I had to get rid of my tank a few years ago as we didnt have room in our flat. As I am currently moving house I am planning a new 5 foot aquarium for my office
What is your current occupation or study status? I am a Business Improvement Manager for Skanska.
If you were hosting a dinner party, which 5 famous people would you invite (dead or alive)?Bill Gates, Mark Knight, Stephen Fry, Jason Manford and Keith Flint
If you could go back in time, what era would you travel to and why? Im going to be awkward and say that I would rather go to the future to see how technology has advanced.
What would be your ideal Holiday Destination? I have still never been to Ibiza yet. I would love to go to all the big clubs to see the big name DJs out there (preferably before I get to old!)
What would be your perfect Sunday? Cold beer, warm sunshine and a sizzling barbeque with friends and family.
